Tips for Improving Accuracy

Best Practices for High Accuracy Transcription

Scribe delivers industry-leading transcription for financial conversations (see our full benchmarks here). Obtaining the highest accuracy transcriptions requires high audio quality and a knowledgeable model. Below are some of the factors that affect transcription accuracy and methods for improving them.

Audio Quality

The quality of the input audio file has a direct effect on transcription accuracy.

Methods for improving audio quality:

Language Model

The language model that Scribe uses will have an impact on the words and phrases recognized from an audio sample. If your audio contains words or phrases that Scribe's language model does not know (such as proper names), these will not transcribe accurately.

Scribe features language model customization that allows you to add words or improve the language model.
Contact us for more information about extending the language model.

Acoustic Model

If Scribe poorly transcribes a particular voice sample or accent, then the acoustic model is likely poorly trained on that type of voice. An example of this is two speakers speaking the same phrase, but possessing different accents and resulting in different accuracy transcriptions.

Ways to improve the acoustic model:

1) Voice Onboarding

GreenKey has a voice onboarding process that you can participate in. Visit this page, then simply press start, and read the six phrases shown (hitting next between each phrase). At the end a ".wav" and ".stm" file will be downloaded by the page. Email these two files to The files are completely anonymized.

Once received, we will inform you in about a week how you can use an updated model with improved accuracy for the voice samples you send.

2) Custom Acoustic Model Training

GreenKey Scribe does allow custom acoustic model training for firms that have GPU computing capabilities. Contact us for more information and details about on-premise installations.
